OK….. More info on the suspects below and a picture that explains why I *KNOW* this mouse was planted!!
How do I know it was planted? Well this thing was pretty much mummified… had to have been dead for months at LEAST. And of course it was planted right dead center on the top of the boiler… except the day before, less than 24 hours prior – I had been going over this boiler all over with a flashlight to get the date of manufacture for anyone that asks ( I did get it ) but there is NO WAY, I accidentally missed a mummified mouse corpse right under my nose. So first.. here is the evidence
So as you can clearly see – this little guy did not croak in the past day. Do I take it as a compliment ( Someone likes the home so much trying to scare away competition )? Here are the suspects:
- Local family … Parents, Sister live right in the neighborhood. Agent called first day on the market, whole clan came to the Open house and was first group there
- The “helpful” buyer that took me aside to whisper that he ” thinks I should know there is a mouse downstairs ” … right after he told me he thinks it needs a bit too much work ( on his 2nd visit!! )
- Family with kids in tow: 3 kids under the age of 6 … when asked if I could help them got the response ” Stop anyone else from buying it”
- The Neighbor: Stayed for a while – told me he thought my price was way off… looked at me like I had 2 heads when I asked if he thought it was too high or too low
- Someone else that hates me ( Should be impossible but you never know )
I guess we’ll see if anyone that makes an offer tries to use a potential “rodent” problem to negotiate… I’ll be surreptitiously checking after every group goes down to the basement from here on out and will report back when the culprit is found!!!
